Jarman Ward Limited provided a full turn-key multi-disciplinary suite of professional services from initial inspection of damage, highlighting structural concerns to a specification and set of drawings for contractor pricing and building regulations approval. Our project management services to the Client ensured that the tendering process was managed, contract administration and site monitoring were undertaken throughout the project. 

The property had received significant structural damage following a, particularly severe storm. The period building was assessed by our surveyors with a supporting structural engineer to propose a scope for remedial repairs. 

A scope of works, drawings and associated tender documents were compiled and a tendering exercise was completed. Full liaison with the Loss Adjuster ensured that funding was secured efficiently to allow for works to begin as soon as the Contractor and material could be safely mobilised. 

Particular attention was made to saving as much period fabric as possible, for example the use of resin and structural strapping to preserve existing timber trusses. Use of existing stone to re-build stone bay window and side veranda. 

We mobilised a local contractor who’s skillset and tender submission matched the requirements of the property. The Client was kept fully informed throughout the process and indeed we accommodated a number of additional pieces of work whilst the scaffold was erected, as this made the cost of the work much less than if the scaffold was not present. We believe this is a good example of collaborating with our Client to offer them the best value for money whilst delivering the best possible service we could.

The works duly completed and the final account was agreed and the JCT Contract Administration was completed.

The project was a huge success and the outcome was stunning with a very happy Client too.
