Our Client identified that their existing office café flooring needed to be replaced. The previous floor covering was no longer considered suitable for a catering outlet as it was challenging to keep clean. There was scope to replace the flooring to a more hygienic covering whilst at the same time improving the aesthetics of the space. Jarman Ward provided programme management and oversaw, liaised with, and managed the engagement of stakeholders to ascertain requirements and provided support to draft budget costs and apply for project funding.
The solution was to remove the floor old coverings with associated sub-floor adhesives and replace it with new three-tone vinyl. The specified product is slip-resistant to industry standards which will reduce the likelihood of slips and trips in a highly trafficked area. The new flooring material is also easier to clean and maintain, which should ensure that it can be cleaned in line with industry hygiene standards. The material is made using up to 20% recycled materials, is Phthalate-free and contains only bio-plasticisers.
Jarman Ward oversaw the procurement of the works in accordance with Client stipulations. The contractor completed the works safely and within the construction programme. The new floor was well received by the incumbent contract caterer. This was important in ensuring the figures contributed to an accurate overall monthly spend profile set against annual targets.
Jarman Ward has been supporting Clients with their Capital and Maintenance Works Programmes for many years and this is another example of successful collaboration.
