Project Details
Client: Private Client
Survey Type: Full Building Survey
Location: Somerset
Jarman Ward Limited were commissioned to undertake a full building survey of a substantial Grade II listed property, dating from the late 16th and retaining many of the original features.
During the inspection, our surveyor noted significant timber defects for example, wood boring insect damage to structural roof timbers. Although not uncommon in period hardwood timbers which are not treated if left the weakened timber could present structural issues. Our surveyor was able to advise on the extent and remedial work with a view to retaining as much timber as possible due to the Grade II listed status.
Following the release of a comprehensive report our Client was pleased and we organised a follow up call to discuss the significance of the defects found.
The full building survey report was comprehensive and gratefully received by our Client.
